ROAR - a Unit for Roads |
The Roar unit is especially designed for the measurement of pavement surface characteristics on roads.
Relevant services are for example routine survey of highways for identification of poor friction sections,
and testing of new tire designs for tire manufacturers.
Roar is suitable for:
Public roads administration
Road research laboratories and technical centres
Public roads and aviation administrations
Insurance companies
Technical centres
Traffic accident investigators
Consumer product testing organisations
The technology is based on a very simple idea: In order to stop or steer a car or an aeroplane,
you need to use the friction force between the tire and the surface. The more friction,
the better you steer and the faster you stop.
